The Hochkönig Roas is one of the most popular summer alpine hikes in the country and attracts countless guests to Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach year after year. In addition to the stunning natural backdrop of the Hochkönig region, the participating huts impress guests with their regional specialities. Accompanied by the hearty sounds of folk music groups, guests hike, bike or lift from alpine hut to alpine hut. Music is played and danced along the trails, and in some places alphorn players and folk musicians play for the hikers and bikers.
Culinary journey to traditional alpine specialities
Once they arrive at the mountain huts, guests can look forward to authentic mountain hut specialities. In culinary terms, the Hochkönig Roas is all about traditional dishes that have almost been forgotten. Each participating hut offers such a dish for guests. On this day, guests and locals can enjoy a Schottsuppe, Pofesen, Bladl or the classic Pinzgauer Muas.

Guided hikes to the participating huts
The beauty of the Hochkönig region can be experienced in all its facets on the certified hiking trails in summer. The tours through the extensive hiking area are varied - from easy to challenging routes, the Hochkönigroas has the right hike for every fitness level. If you want to enjoy the Roas to the full, it is best to join a guided hike. As you can't be everywhere at once, a guided tour starts in all three villages.
By ebike from alpine hut to alpine hut
If you want to reach even more huts on this day, you can of course use your mountain bike or e-bike. The signposted cycle paths always lead through beautiful countryside and unspoilt nature.
